Hi everyone looking for information on anywhere to find gems around Rockhampton can area like garnets ect any info would be appreciated thanks

For garnets start sieving gravels in the eddy areas of creeks, small garnets are common, for sapphires head to Sapphire and Rubyvale, around 3 hrs west, this website will give you the maps of the fossicking areas: https://www.qld.gov.au/recreation/activities/areas-facilities/fossicking/central-qld

If you have never sieved for gems, head for Armfest in Sapphire and they'll show you the principals, they also have buckets of gravel that you can play with and you will find gems, the other alternative is join a tag-along tour.
