1980 aud 50c piece.....

Hi.... this wasnt detected, but found in a deceased estate stuff..... the 50c piece has a gold look on the obverse, but only around the outer 3rd on the tails side.... is this just discolouration, or was there a coin minted?. google hasnt helped....anyone know?

Or it has been kept in a plastic sleeve for years then taken out and spent.
The old plastic sleeves will do that.

I'm pretty familiar with coins, none that I know of were issued with a golden band. As mentioned plastic sleeves will cause that. Its stained.

Any 1966 20 cent pieces or 2000 $1 coins amongst them?

These 2 can be worth money if they are the right ones. Unfortunately the double bar is not overly collectable. Nice find nonetheless! :Y:
