Rockerbox With Hand Operated Bilge Pump

Day one got all the wood and 90% of the hardware
Pump turned up yesterday 55lt per min
Hoping to have it in 3 parts

Sounds like an interesting project. Are you aiming for gold or gems?

Gold mostly but will try for both

Is that marine ply or radiate mate?

Lanolin does a really nice job of protecting it and it polishes up well too.

Will lanolin repel the gold? Just a thought.
what about bathroom floor sealer? Wont be pretty but definitely water tight

I was thinking of outdoor lacquer that is used on patios

It's widely available these days, hardware, automotive, marine etc.

Two pack epoxy, maybe. Decking oil would not be good but I stand to be corrected, again.

I have no idea about the lanotec, outside my scope, but epoxy would be best, followed by something like plasti dip or luxa pool.

Think waterproofing not exterior weather protection if you want to do it right, Ive lost count of the times encountering cheap or incorrect protective coatings applied to substrates that are completely unsuitable.

Any how just my opinion to do it once and do it right, but whatever you decide mate Ill be watching the project with interest. :Y:

Got a bit done today
My electric saw broke so all cuts were done with a Jig Saw (that was fun)

Damned good job mate...look forward to seeing it in operation...does the sluice section have riffles?..or does it rely on the splash board thingo to separate out the gold...also does it sit on an 'arched' cradle to facilitate the 'rocking' action?...so many questions!... :lol: :lol:

at this stage i am going to try without
just using the ute matting and some rubber backed spaghetti mat
first then depending how it goes will work it out then
