Nice old brooch face.

Got some swinging time in after doing all the obligatory mums day duties yesterday.
A couple of crusty coppers from a new spot..... seaside reserve, so a corrosive environment.




These buttons faired a little better.

A different spot on the way home produced these,
A bit of a broken compass I think.

A nice solid hitching ring.

Some more finds from the parklands.... how some of these turn up in a park is a mystery to me.

This appears to be a rolling foot from a desk or table.... even has a replaceable ball.

An in-line tap for a gas supply line I reckon... beautifully made brass.

Another solid brass item... a plumb bob maybe ?

Eddie VII looks like hes had a lobotomy :lol: I think it was my fault getting him out of the dirt.

Maybe the brass bit out of a tyre pressure reader from the olden days.... or a brass shiv

No, unfortunately, just a plain stainless band.

Whats a brass shiv, Silver... ?

A shiv is a prison made knife, sometimes called a shank. Common one is a sharpened toothbrush handle.

As a shiv it certainly would do some damage.... but its too well made to be a prison knock up.

Dig the midtones for that sov or half... bet the tight wads either lost one or hid some
(Only the repeatable midtones that dont overload when you reset up on top of them.... thats how I define gold targets over aluminium mid tones on the fly without digging the alloy.)

Thanks silver,.... I hear what youre saying. One of these days I will strike a mid tone that isnt junk, its just that you have to dig so many of the suckers that sometimes you just say... pass. Thats why you just keep going back to your flogged sites.... you never know
