I made myself a pick/scraper today out of some old 6mm plate steel & a piece of gal pipe for the handle. I think Ill end up cutting the pipe down to be a flange & insert a timber handle as its pretty heavy. Im going to try hardening the pick end too.
I also made one of Greenhornets plug diggers. Thanks for the template Greenhornet.

I cut my pick out of an old leaf spring . You need to find one that is thin and suitable for the job .

Here is a photo of mine , not had a lot of use . The head is made from a leaf spring , it is 300 x 50 m.m. wide . The handle is light gauge tube and is 500 m.m. long .
