I have worn this doublet for 30 years. Water has got under it and it has chipped around the edges.
I tried to cover it with resin to seal it. I did not do anything to the surface so the resin did not stick in some places. I need to redo it. Any ideas how to remove the resin? I'm guessing I need to sand it?

I'd be cautious of acetone as this is a doublet, it may destroy the bond with the backing potch. Best would be to have the stone taken out of the setting than work on possibly a 14,000 nova diamond wheel before re-polishing.

DO NOT USE ACETONE, best advice would be to follow Dihuskys advice. This is why I only play and sell solids. Best of luck to you. I can fix for you as well, pm if you want to go down this road. :Y:
