Exactly as you'd expect, 12x8" is slightly more sensitive, 14x9" is slightly deeper. On a 5000 with Fine Gold they are very close in performance depending on Rx Gain settings. On the 4500 with Enhance, the extra sensitivity of the 12x8" is a little more noticeable.

I hear there is a whole new lineup of flatwire coils coming from NF for gpx/gp/sd as well as the gpz new coils. Will be interesting to see if any advancements other than more emi resistance.
