My name is Owen and after 26 years with the Qld Government the entire organisation I worked for was made redundant last December so I've decided to buy a working Sapphire mine at Rubyvale in Queensland and go dig in the dirt.
I currently live in Emerald Qld and the claim is located out at Rubyvale Qld.

Gday mate, I recently bailed from the NT government and moved to emerald. Was it much of a process to buy a lease?

Hi Guys, buying my claim will take about 6 weeks to go through and if I find a half decent rock or 2 that would be nice so for me its basically a good way to keep active until I can access my Super tax free and retire early and forever at Emu Park.

Heck mate, the way things are right now I hope there is some super left for you by the time you are due.
I lost a lot in the last GFC just as I retired.
Good luck with your lease.

Wasn't the Health department by any chance :D .

Hi Shep,

The whole process was very straight forward and even with adding the stamp duty to the purchase price the whole process took about 6 weeks.
What I did to speed up the process was used use the services of a lady at Sapphire that completed the forms and submitted them for me.
There was a $400 fee and worth every cent.

Cheers

Owen
