Hello from the Gold Coast!

Hey guys,

Graham here. New member here who's been fascinated and in love with gold prospecting and alluvial gold fossicking for some time. Did a bit in NZ on a trip about a year ago, and have just started to organise my first trip out panning with my brother-in-law, the wife and kids Not sure where we're heading yet - Just doing all the research now.

Anyone have some good recommendations on Northern Rivers NSW or locations close to the Gold Coast, QLD? (3 hrs or less drive hopefully!) Anyone had any luck at Kyogle or nearabouts?

Hi Goneale, welcome to PA, I usually go panning at Thanes creek Warwick, dont know anything about the Northern rivers.

Dalmorton, Pretty Gully, Drake, Ewingar State Forrest are good areas in NSW.... If you decide on Dalmorton, beware of very sharp rocks in the road and Logging Trucks.. You will need a 4x4 for Dalmorton, Standard car tyres won't last long out there and Ewingar is terrible if there has been any recent rain.. Warwick area is OK, but lots go out there looking...
