Found this English New Penny today using my recently bought Minelab Ex-Terra 705. Around the Mudgee area
Just wondering if it's worth anything

I doubt if it is worth more than a penny at the current exchange rate, reckon they would have minted quite a few of them. Generally the australian predecimal coins are worth more than the English ones as they had lower mintages.

Keep it as all new pence prior to 1982 are very collectable to the English, as they have up until the last couple of years not bothered to collect the early decimal coins.
I have been struggling to find the early years Pre 1982 in UNC even on the overseas markets.

I found one also from 1971. Nice English coin. Research shows it's worth 1c. over 1 billion of these minted.

Like I wrote it all comes down to batch and condition, when they were made some 1971 coins can be worth 5000 times their face value research your find.
Currently there is only 3 sets of 1 New penny registered on the PCGS web site. Compared with nearly a hundred of the same value 1 cent coin in Australia.

And these are the only registered collections on PCGS.
