Kato is still WELL entrenched in this hobby, and hopefully will be well into the future too.

She found this item in a site that historically used to be a bit of an urban rubbish dump 1800's

When she first went there Kato spoke to a woman already detecting and was shown pics of her previous finds,
since then Kato has found silver, gold, artifacts and now this....

So, I suspect that this may have been on the shoulder of a uniform that had shoulder tabs.
About 4" long and 1-1/2" wide it would fit a shoulder.
It may have been plated at some stage, maybe with polished nickel or something shiny.

Any idea's please ?

Want to bump this because Kato and I are stumped as to what it is.

We are really hopeful that someone can help to identify it.

A couple of other pic's for perspective of size, also it is made of pressed copper sheet.

Thanks Savage,

Any idea of when that was the fashion/trend, the ribbon going through the wire loops is easy to imagine,
Kato will be pleased to hear this, it was a personal item.

Some sort of a date range would be nice, if you can help with that.

Cheers.

Thank you Savage, this item comes from an area in Adelaide that is for the 'well off' families.

BONUS for Kato, she loves the history factor.

I have not had the chance to tell her yet, but she will research the heck out of it for sure.

Your assistance is most appreciated.
