Nice shilling, shame about the digger. Blackada do say that they guarantee their welding, though it is only made of mild steel and probably only really strong enough for loose soil.

If you want to look at something stronger, I can highly recommend the Model 31C Raptor - prefect shape for digging plugs and very strong. All their diggers are heat treated and tempered, and made from Chrome-moly aircraft quality steel. They also do serrated tools made from the same quality metal. big_smile

Yeah the digger issue threw me off my game for abit there, stood around talking to my mate and didn’t detect for 10-15 just watching him And chatting... and about 3m in front of me was a bucketlister for me...

Australian military forces button roll

But anyhow, I’ve contacted BlackAda and they’re going to replace it. Hopefully the next one holds up better than this one which I’m going to take into work and re-weld for a back up

Went out for hunt #84 today... and damn, my best hunt ever on the silvers. 14 in total including 4x British thrips

Here’s some photos as they came out of their earthly prison:

Wow, what a hunt! Very little metal in the ground and no modern trash. Seemed like every hole was a pre decimal! Also got 5 pennies and 3 half pennies!

I’ll be back there later to Hoover up the remaining silvers wink

Only had an hour for hunt #85 but I dashed back to the field for a quick look. Scored 2 more:

I gave the location to my mate and he scored 10, including a 1817 shilling the lucky so and so!

Together that’s 26 silvers so far and counting wink

Back to the field of dreams for hunt #86 big_smile

Managed 8 silvers:

1571120802_8f919aef-2b9e-4076-a51a-c366cec3d492.jpg

And scored this ripper queen vic half crown, my second half crown cool cool

1571120857_573f1729-7b49-4549-8db0-4bd36fbb40ff.jpg

Pretty faded but I think the date might be 1881:

1571120924_8377f77c-ac94-47be-87f3-b03c56c25029.jpg

Certainly looks like double 8s, so maybe 1881/7/4.... something like that playful

My mate joined me for an hour but only managed a thrip and sixpence

Total silver count for this site: 36 cool

LOL, showed Kato your pics and she is now telling me to take up your offer to go out into the field together.

She is salivating at your little 'crop'.

Kids, what do you do with them ??

LOL smile

Still looking for Captain Feather-swords treasure chest !
Won't be long now - 3240+ holes and STILL counting. (bloody ring-pulls and tabs) LOL

The funny this is, I found my Eddy Half crown on the 15th of last month - September, I just found the Vicky half crown today... the 15th of October.

Now I’m not a superstitious fella... but

My birthday is the 15th, my house number is 15, 15 was the number on my high school basket ball jersey, and it also happens to be my favourite number...

All I’m saying is... I can’t wait for the 15th of next month lol lol lol

Could all be lucky because it's the number straight after 14 which is two sevens...... regardless... the luck is obviously strong with this one yikes

Headed out for hunt #87 with a mate of mine to one of his spots:

Managed a pre decimal full house, which is my second ever full house so pretty happy with that:

1572781024_c73e1e35-c521-4780-813a-a56160c156d1.jpg

Also managed my first 1 florin 2 shillings coin and it’s in great nic!

Also managed this really nice condition 1908 Brit half penny:

My buddy was only short a sixpence to get his full house but Unfortunately just missed out!
