boobook Joined Oct 25, 2013 Messages 179 Reaction score 142 Feb 19, 2019 #5 A "scratch test" or SG will tell you if it is Zircon. Sapphire and zircon are about the only 2 commonly found translucent stones in that area. To me, your specimen looks more like zircon than sapphire. mike
