I got a phone call this morning saying there is a notice in a tree at a popular
fossicking location at Stannifer, at the causeway at the end of old mill road.
A lot of members here will know the spot.
I went and had a Captain Cook & took photos.
I rang the Dept of Natural Resources and they will get back to me, i
will keep you informed as to Reason why.
I rang Crown lands but they didn't now anything, the person
i talked to was most helpful and will follow it up also.

Was no sign when I was there 2 weeks ago. Must be very recent.
At least, they have left the western side of the causeway open to us (for now).
I didn't hear or see anything to do with some form of consultation.
How does the DPI get away with sticking signs up, it seems, wherever and whenever they wish without consulting Joe Public?
Might be something NAPFA can discuss with the DPI? Just saying.

hi, Mbasko, just got a call back from the local contact, Warren Martin.
Problem is some redneck went through a fence next to the creek
and dug holes in a property owners paddock, she is concerned about her cattle
so now they have a ban on that area. This is a temporary ban until
they sort it out. Warren said they will put up new signage to direct
people where they can and can't dig. Give them a couple of weeks
to get this done.

Signage is probably about the only thing that can be done - without a security guard stationed there, there will always be people willing to go through fences.

If someone goes through my neighbours block and leaves the little gate open that backs onto the easment and walking trails down the back so that their dog gets out, I wonder if they would be successful in applying to have the front footpath of the street and back easment and walking tracks closed to all the public because of the actions of one or a few?

Just one more example of some mongrel stuffing it up for everyone else.
Unfortunately we see this type of thing occurring everywhere in Australia.
It sure does get annoying sometimes.

new signage wont do anything as there will be more people that will do the same silly thing. Bit like fishing , some fisherman think that where it says "NO FISHING" sign is a better spot to fish
