I dug a couple of rings recently in parks. They don't appear to be silver and are probably junkers but they do have some markings on them which I can't identify. Does anyone know what they signify?

They look hand crafted - particularly the top one. Could be the artisan's mark (signature) on them.

From the amount of wear and the inset opals, I'd have thought that they probably are silver. I can't help with those unintelligible markings, but Asian silver jewellery isn't always clearly marked as such.

A metal detector with an LCD readout should give an unmistakeably high number reading if they are silver.

Thanks, I'll give them another scan when I can get outside (we live in an apartment) and check the number.
