I have 10 days off and have a choice to go to Rubyvale, Sapphire, Anakie area or to
Glen Innes and Inverell area they a both around 7 hours away so doesn't bother me where I go,
but I would like the best chance to find something of size worth cutting,
I have a 4x4 and will be towing a caravan.
any advice would be great ,or any recommendation's to other areas within the 7 hour drive from Maryborough qld.
I went to glen innes 2 months ago and stayed at the homestead at reddestone crk we got a lot of gems but were a smaller then 1/8 besides one sapphire

I guess both areas are good producers however it would be a little cooler
down south and plenty of water if you need it.
Maybe moving around trying your luck in different creeks will help find
the big one too.
Toss a coin and go with the losing one and good luck to ya.

Both areas are fantastic places to go. I was at the Qld gemfields for the Anakie Gemfest -It was very dry there - I'd head to NSW Glen Inness, Inverell area & Torrington. Should find more water in the creeks.

Enjoy your trip. Have a safe one.
