Some big trout being caught in the Goulburn this weekend, fisheries released 2000 trout to promote tourism and the trout season opening. Just after taking this photo I saw a lady land a 5.3kg rainbow.

That is a beauty.
My father-in-law ( now departed) would fish Eucumbene using live green frogs and take his catch to the smoking huts.
Those were the days and any left overs would be made into Trout Fish Patties.

Oops sorry just realised I've said Merton instead of Molesworth.

Here's Charlie's whopper rainbow trout caught on a spinner trawling from his kayak

It's in the freezer until we can get it to a taxidernist, he sure is one happy fella. Weighed in at 4.61kg or 10.16lb possibly a once in a lifetime fish.
