Does your gpx 5000 screen have symbals near the top like a cell phone symbal thats barley visablel is that normal

Is it a genuine minelab or a fake chinese copy?

Can you put a picture up?

Well that's new to me as I have never noticed them. Got any photos of it at all?

Minlab confirmes my serial number

Maybe you can only notice them because of the ambient light from the menu selected but they would light up if that item is selected or fault occurs.

Thanks for posting the shots of that SDM. I can honestly say I've never noticed that before?

Good for you Sourdough....I was hoping that you weren't sold a fake.
I saw a pic of a fake GPX 5K with dodgey font etc on the lcd, google it you'll find it...I was relieved to see yours looks 100%

A bit bright however

It has all the holo graphic pictures where i have to use that grey plastic to see the picture

The box is good im it has all the right font.

A lot of LCD displays are made with extra features that are not used.
Obviously in this case, The LCD Module is not programmed to
display these symbols.

It would've been good to see the Battery % and Clock implemented into the LCD screen like that as a feature, similar to the Zed.

Makes me I wonder what the initial intentions were? Looks to be a Signal Strength indicator on the left. Maybe they were trying to incorporate wireless a while back? Who knows with Minelab?
