Does your gpx 5000 screen have symbals near the top like a cell phone symbal thats barley visablel is that normal

Thanks for posting the shots of that SDM. I can honestly say I've never noticed that before?

I'll keep it in mind to have a closer look next time I fire the old beast up. :Y:

Good for you Sourdough....I was hoping that you weren't sold a fake.
I saw a pic of a fake GPX 5K with dodgey font etc on the lcd, google it you'll find it...I was relieved to see yours looks 100%

A bit bright however :D
 
A lot of LCD displays are made with extra features that are not used.
Obviously in this case, The LCD Module is not programmed to
display these symbols.
 
It would've been good to see the Battery % and Clock implemented into the LCD screen like that as a feature, similar to the Zed.

Makes me I wonder what the initial intentions were? Looks to be a Signal Strength indicator on the left. Maybe they were trying to incorporate wireless a while back? Who knows with Minelab?

Interesting none the less. :Y:
