If there are 5 blokes that regularly detect the area they dont own a NOX :Y: :D ]:D
lucky they don't have CTX's ;)

Mate, Smoky has the right detector for that trashy site, if he gets a few more totals like that he can buy a CTX for the beaches...... ;)

I love both the CTX and the Nox but yeah there is just something about the Nox that makes it especially good for trashy sites. :Y:

I've got the coiltek 10x5 and it's sort of redundant now I have the Nox. The smaller coils are great on the CTX but the nox with 11" is still better at isolating good targets such as goldies in dense trash. The goldies just leap out of the background extremely well for some reason and ground coverage is much better than the smaller CTX coils. More ground coverage equals more treasure.

The raw power of the CTX and the 17" coil is awesome on the beaches and Nox definitely doesn't punch as deep but in trashy parks it really is a great detector. The Nox is pretty much my go to detector now and the CTX is more of a specialised deep seeking tool for me now.

You need tp try one for a few weeks.

my mate has one :) seen his used lots , have used one , yeah they are ok :Y:
i haven't got one yet ! that says something ;)

Takes a while to get to know them properly.

The trashy areas here might be a lot worse than where you detect, with 1000's of people every weekend at sportsfields around here the non ferrous trash is severe and the CTX can suffer a bit from the blending of target signals, the "high trash" target separation helps with that but not entirely.

All good if you don't need one but I did need to get one, can't wait until the larger 15 inch coil comes out. I won't be getting the smaller coil as it doesn't need it, the 11 inch coil is good enough for the Nox.

Yep When I looked at that huge huge...did I say HUGE oval and then looked at the 11 inch coil......It was like that jeep ad on tv........YOUR GONNA NEED A BIGGER COIL. I'm also looking forward to the 6 inch as I have an area that I think the Nox with the 6inch will work well on small bits of GOLD :D :Y: :Y:

Yeah I know what you mean about the large areas, best way I approach it is just do the best spots first like under trees and sidelines or just pick out say 20mx20m areas to do and just grid them one by one, can be daunting sometimes. :)

Hope you get some gold with the smaller coil when you give it a go, will be very interesting.

i had the big coil on the other day and got smoked by my mate with the stock coil (got 2 coins) i went back the next day with the 11 and score 17 coins, its horses for courses :Y:
i think 10 by 5 would not work as well as a stock 6, but truly i can count on one hand the areas i'd need one, only normal around the beverage selling areas  (fecking ringpulls) but gridding with the 11 normally gets most good things

The 17s arr 50c on the Nox
Theres just to many targets there not to discriminate ...Dont want to upset the caretaker with 100s of plugs so I'm just cleaning out all the higher spendibles :Y: :D
Glad to be of service with the wedge..hopefully next week I find a axe wedge :Y:
