Found this yesterday. A solid 19.

Has anyone seen one like it? No marks that I can find.

Maybe the cross was a home made one, hot metal poured into a sand mould, one that was'nt packed down real well so it ended up making its own shape within the cross. 8)

At least ya know it finds florins too now hey ! :D
Ya can finally trust the thing properly. 8)
only way not to score is to think every target is a beauty and make the retrieval noteworthy.... even if it means the careful retrieval of a bottle top at times (it'll make you laugh to yourself when that happens)(and curse under your breath at the same time lol) ;) ;)
:Y:  :Y:

A couple of hours yesterday morning. Again, I haven't included the many ring pulls, pull tabs, bottle tops.

Some of those 1c coins were pretty deep (6+ inches).

The 1863 penny was the second-last target I dug. I then dug the Lorus watch face and decided it was time to finish up :8

This morning was my 3rd time ever beach detecting.

Found this 925 Georg Jensen "Smithy" ring on wet, hard-pack sand within 3 minutes of starting. I estimate that it was 10 inches or more down, as it took a few large scoops to get to it.

I kept detecting for an hour or so after finding this but only found 7 or 8 other targets in total, all trash. Its a very popular and quite famous beach, and given that I didn't find any coins and hardly any rubbish, I'm guessing the place gets done over regularly.

It's my first real ring (I found a junker in a playground a few years ago with my old MXT).

Mode: Beach 2, gain 21.
