2018 Finds

Hit an old honey hole this arvo, and found a patch that we missed! I am exhausted, I found it hard to stop, just so many popping! All of them full silver!

Would have been hard to drag yourself away when they just kept coming out like that.

Yep, but they were still biting when I left. They will be digging that one up soon, not sure how much will be effected.

Back to the same revitalized old honey hole today. RJ was to join me, but he ditched me to buy a tin can! The railway fob seems to be silver, has the weight, look, and is engraved. The compact is complete, I was hoping for treasure when I opened it.

Awesome hunt Mr Deus demon. Yes I would love to have that piece in my collection. My own fault for choosing to spend the day with Mrs Ramjet and not detecting with you. Awesome hunt mate. Do NOT change what you are doing. It is working well for you.

Yeah, but it was prob 12 months ago since we hit that. I think 12 months more experience, and the wet ground has helped a lot. Not like we stopped getting finds there, we just moved on to new sites. We didnt get a decent ratio of silver back then....which always left me wondering why.

I totally understand the "experience" mention, especially when you systematically hunt a site by layers (depth of targets).

Amazing how your perception of deep/faint targets changes as you clean out the more obvious targets, leaving the less obvious ones to concentrate on. All a part of detecting by ear, and often why "hunted" out sites become renewed at a later date - great work Rocket! :Y:

Same spot as last time, the coins were in patches, and spread very far apart. It felt like a very slow hunt, was satisfying though!
