Hey guys after a recent trip to the UK with the detector and a massive struggle to remove the coil cover on a webbed style coil I was wondering if anyone coats there coils in a PVC dip or sprays them with something like Line X or anything similar.

Anyone done this or can recommend a product to use ?

TIA

Just to clarify, the reason I suggest 'pond sealer' is because it is a rubberised acrylic product, it is tough, durable, but easy to use and cheap too,
comes in many colours and is non toxic.

If it gets scratched up or filthy it is simple to recoat and look like new again.

An alternative clip on cover could be made from sheet plastic corflute or a multitude of large plastic containers, use your coil as the template and strap on
with adhesive male and female velcrow or cable ties.

I will have to do a DIY on it.... ;)
