The ACE's FIRST PRE DECIMAL

Its not a very good condition example and its only a Hall penny bit its still the first!!

I have come to Port Pirie for a few weeks and done some quick hunts in local parks, nothing very exciting just a few dollars here and there but today I went to a new location i have been looking at for a while.
I was on a tight schedule so only had 20 mins to scout out, first target was a 1cent so I though pre decimal could be an option then second was an English half penny.

Very poor condition but after a quick clean and in the bright sunlight I could see the date well at 1886, I could no get it to show very good in the photos but here she is.


It is supposed to look like this, a bit more soaking in soapy water may help but I won't hold my breath

Nice work mate and well done, there has to be more surely, get back there when you can and give her a good sweeping!

Congrats on your first predec, worth a more detailed and prolonged detect if getting into the 1800's gear.

Nice finds there Lord. You should go out to Nalyappa
It's an old town site, it is still inhabited, near the hills. Have a look on Google maps or ask a local.

That looks like its more down your way Wishfull had never heard of it before so cheers, not this trip but stored in the old memory for future :Y:
