First hunt of the new year and thought I'd start a new year thread.

I hit North Curl Curl this morning for 2 hours, there were a lot of people there but not so many good targets, I dug a lot of junk today like bottletops and bobby pins looking to open the gold account early, was not to be though. I did manage to get a small Pandora 925 charm though so did manage to open the jewellery account. My ice cream container is almost chockas full of coins too so will cash that in over the next fewe days, should be about a grand in there.

Not a bad start to the year.

Cheers fellas, hitting hopefully a better spot today, somewhere I haven't done before, then might hit a local beach for the extreme low tides this arvo. :Y:

Hit the new spot today which is an extension of a spot I did a few weeks back, the parking price increased from $5 an hour to $9..... So I only stayed an hour and a quarter but managed to more than pay for parking and got 2 rings, 1 junker and 1 silver. Then I went back to spot I regularly do and managed to do pretty well on recent drop coins. Total for the morning was about $60.

I don't think I'll get out for the low tides this arvo, have never really done any good with them before, though I might, not sure yet, pretty buggered from this mornings effort with the 17 inch boat anchor coil.

Hit a very busy park that I usually do once every month or two and it had replenished very nicely. The ring is junk and I actually specced it as the discrimination settings I was running discrimed it out, as soon as I noticed it I knew it was a junker.... Got a little sterling pendant and the cash total was $45. Also managed to get a toasted half penny and the 1942 Franc was an interesting find.
