The 5th pic down is most likely obsidian, the yellow lumpy one is most likely limonite.

Not sure about the rest.
Thanks heatho,
Do you think the top one then might be garnet? ?

The big one could possibly be a chondrite, the black one yeah obsidian.

General location finding these as that could help with identification? some bits might be just water worn ironstone or hematite at best tektites? although they are not quite glassy enough and tektites have more uniform shapes.

They all attract a magnet? Do they feel way heavier than they look like they should be?

Meteorites can be a bugger to identify, I have thought I had come across them in the past and have referred to my brother in law who is a geologist.

After a while, he just sent me a few samples of the real deal lol.

Good luck, I hope they are the real deal.

No worries Shazza, not sure about garnet, I don't think so.

Keep at though you're getting some decent specimens regardless.

I was just sanded the corner of this one...A magnet is attracted to it, it doesnt feel like metal but if you hold it has the weight of metal ( I dont have digital scales ) oh and Im from Adelaide found them in the hills

I don't want to be a buzzkill but loads of Hematite has been mined all through the area there, it's primarily an iron ore and it comes in many forms, appearances and lustre.

You can get really pretty crystalline specimen forms that almost look like flowers, then some with really sharp hexagonal crystals or even kidney shaped, or really metallic tumbled stones with a mirror finish, then just bog standard chunks of submetallic rock.

I'm not 100% sure its all Hematite (excluding the obsidian)........ it's just weighing a bit that way.

Do you have any unglazed porcelain? like maybe the back of a porcelain tile?

All Hematite will scratch a reddish streak.

There are definitely meteorites to be found in the north of your state though.........so good luck hope you can find some, they can be worth a pretty penny. Lol just gotta be careful selling them or posting them overseas....gotta follow a set of rules....I'm sure they are found in this forum somewhere.
