If it's not brittle you can use dish washing soap and water and a soft bristle tooth brush, then to preserve it get some Renaissance Wax...I myself use metal polish (Autosol)...but that is me and it may not be your choice of preserving. It's a beauty mate.

its not brittle, ive done a little cleaning just now with a toothpick, will get to some warm soapy water and and a soft bristle brush tonight when I get home.
