What is this sapphire worth?

Hey i was given a saphire from a friend was told if i get it cut it could be worth some money so i am wondering as i dont know anything about gemstones how much you think this could possibly be worth or if its just a junk piece

Do you know the dimensions of the rough stone. Might help someone possibly decifer the cut size?

Here's to hoping you have ridiculously large hands that just make the stone look on the smaller side?

To be honest and I don't want to upset you but I really can't see that one being a cutter. I'm no expert but I've seen a lot of stones and I'd pretty much put that one in my non-cutter jar.

I think it would be deemed junk by commercial cutters, but a freestyle cut by an hobby cutter may be able to turn it into an interesting curiosity piece.

As a hobby cutter, if it was one I had plucked out of the ground myself, I would invest a bit of time in shaping it up to see if I could get a pendant shape out of it. The Long flat shape, concave holes and inclusions would waste a significant % and I am not confident it would amount to much due to the dark colour against the background.

Value = the enjoyment of tossing it around the machine.
