Some very nice finds there.

The sovereign case - is that the thing that looks like it is a 2 coin holder? A full and a half sov I assume?

Nice one, what the hell happened to that penny??? Looks like it hit something at high speed.

Nice lot of finds and the penny has been hit big time.

Some sweet silver coins,copper penny art work and that mouth watering :drooling: sovereign coin case,I bet your heart skip a beat when you saw that.

That is a fantastic old site with more to come no doubt,hopefully it will be another is a gold sovereign for you.

Looks like it was minted and put into circulation, found its way into someones pocket and then lost the next day. lol :Y:

I used mainly the minelab gloves but since worn the fingers through so now just cheap cut proof ones from bunnings

From the under the ground for over 130yrs
to fully restored gypsy setting Victorian era ring I found in the wheatbelt a little while ago. Sadly when I found it the opal was in bad shape from the well over 100yrs in the ground . The blistering hot summers to icy cold chilly winter nights destroyed the original opal so the hunt was on for a similar Coober Pedy opal so I contacted Micheal Constable at Constable & co Australian opal specialist and he offered a range of opals to choose from . Seeing as though this ring is for Lisa I let her choose an opal and she made a great decision . There is a video there of just the opal we were sent and she loved it so much we bought it. To make sure it would fit we then sent the ring all the way to Queensland to Micheal and he cut it perfectly to fit the ring. He was so great , honest and amazing to deal with he offered to have it set in the ring for us. Sadly we couldnt get afford it at the time so he packaged it really well and sent it all to us. Last week Lisa took the ring to a great Jewlers in the CBD and had it set which took a lot of work with the claws that hold the opal and then polished the ring. Today Lisa picked the ring up and honestly photos do not do it justice . The colour play in the opal is unreal and the ring is mind blowing . Please watch the last video as it shows the colours pretty well . A now treasured piece with a whole new history added to the long history since it was first made back in the gold rush era

Cheers mate, Im not 100% sure but im guessing silver as i dont think white gold was out that early not to mention i think it would be cleaner strait from the ground if gold.
Silver , garnets and opal were a big thing in the victoria era so im going with silver, should get it tested just to be sure though
