Hi all
Got the 705 the other day and have mucked round in the back yard testing coins and working out how to drive it.
Originally set the lengths to the middle and then I changed them to pretty much full length.
It after testing last night I start get getting bit of a sore arm.
There's no shortage of fitness and arm strength. Dirt bikes and gym a lot.
So I shorted it all back it seems better.
I'm 6ft long arms.
Have been holding it next to my hip and as most relaxed I can.
Are there any other tips on setup someone can share?
Do people run a sling like a camera or rifle sling to help a little bit.
I don't want to run a full harness if I can help it.
The mrs is already giving me grief on the detector already lol.
Thanks in advance
Cheers cam :Y:

Hi Cameron.
Basically it's just comes with use. Even though you have good arm strength and are fit, it's still probably using different muscles or the same muscles in a different way than you normally do.

After a while you'll not even notice.

I can swing a 7000 with 19" coil all day with no problem, but be buggered if I can throw a tennis ball 20 feet.

Yep I agree with madtuna, no matter how strong you are you use different muscles and in a different way, It normally takes about 4 or 5 day of full time detecting for it to start wearing off and then you won't notice it, by a week to 10 days its gone so you need to keep at it and then you will be right,

hope that helps.

John.

Ok thanks a lot guys.
I figured that would most likely be the key to it.
Different muscles being worked. Like water skiing and rock climbing.
Well that's good to know.
I guess I can keep swapping hands and build them both up together lol.
Thanks again
Cheers cam :)
