Sterling Silver WW2 "Australian" Parachute/Airbourne Qualifying Badge :p

I found this in the huge local park doing the usual hard graph,it was a clear crisp sound on it's own reading 88-89 on my Delta 4000 :Y:

This is my sweetest find to date with me having some military experience being Army making it just a little bit sweeter.

I have "googled" and found many nearly exactly the same but not quite the same with US Airbourne WW2 being the most common description.

I have contacted Angus and Coote in Sydney knowing that they are not what they used to be still hoping they will send me an email address so I can post the 2 pictures to them hopefully giving me the exact details e.g. Battalion, etc.

I am 100% sure that it was made for the Australian Army for a Parachute Regiment.

I am hoping that I can get more information from anywhere.

It weights 8.85g

Thanks for looking :D

Note - it looks much nicer in the hand with the toning being darker.

the Angue & Coote threw me right off
will be watching this one very interested to see what you find out

Thankyou very much 7.62 for that link,I really appreciate it :Y:

A good way down the Angus and Coote one is there except with the letters - STG SIL - not SGT as we would write today.

I also read that collecting these badges is expensive, time will tell :p

If Angus and Coote don't contact me early next week I will give "head office" a phone call.

Thanks again 7.62 :)

Sorry cashgoldsilver but they are U.S. Army parachute wings or Jump wings.
It might be that during the Vietnam war a U.S serviceman from 101st airborne on leave in Sydney/Brsbane commissioned Angus and Coote to make them for him.
Stlll a great find and im betting their could not have been many U.S serviemen at that time who engaged A&C to make them stirling silver jump wings.
I hope A&C can fill in some of the story behind them...imagine if you could trace them back to the original owner that lost them.
Amazing !
