The .222 was dropped by some shooters and the 2 x .38 were dropped by some military personal during training during WW2.

My oldest coin,a 1881 British shilling.

My best ring being a Michael Hill stamped MHJ CZ 925 weighting just over 5g.

The 2 cool metal whistles were found with the shallow small silvers side by side,used for military training I reckon.

I have been really struggling in the last few months in Newcastle,the Gold Coast and North Brisbane where I am today.

But next week I am off to Coolangatta,then back to Brisbane but in the South and then off to Mount Coolum for 4 months hoping my "luck" will change.

I have learnt that you don't need the "best machine" but good ground,good hours and digging the right numbers.

Beautiful finds there!!

Can I ask do you dig Everything?? Or just chase your numbers?
I only ask as I'm having a real battle finding anything but junk!
As you said though the ground makes a big difference places that
are either very old or haven't been hit by others over and over again
All makes a huge difference and really taking notice of what your machines numbers
are telling you and how the detector behaves. Some guys make it look
so easy.

Do I dig everything - No 8)

Do I chase the numbers - Yes ;)

I "notch out" what I don't want but still "falsing out" on some items like buried aluminium cans,but to the most point notching out works a treat if you are chasing the below :Y:

On my machine the numbers for the most part are -

# $2.00 - 75
# $1.00 - 77
# 50c - 64
# 20c - 60

# Florin - 89
# Shilling - 87
# Sixpence - 85
# Threepence - 83

# Gold rings - 66 ( bear in mind I have only found one)
# .925 silver rings - 89

Advice - do some testing :)

Get yourself some of the above,bury them in different depths e.g. 4"- 8" marking them being $2.00 etc taking notes as you go.

That way you will have first hand knowledge of not only the numbers but the sounds also :D

I hope this might help in some way knowing that your machine is different to mine.

It rang up 80 on my trusty Delta 4000 telling me that it is a big zinc stinker 8.( and the join is a real shockers also :rolleyes:

But to make sure I will sweep it again just to make sure ;)

I was watching Combat Dealers the other night and they had an Airborne beret with your jump wings cgs....He went on to say they were worth top money but the reason for the weird red colour was I think it was the Commander of Airborne that his Wife chose the colour for the beret :eek: :lol:
It was a British Airborne beret though
Very interesting what the guy knows and some of the Militaria he finds :cool: :Y:

Yesterdays water fishing (instead of dirt fishing)

I haven't been fishing for ages,both fish are 25cm right on being legal :party:

We had them for dinner tonight with some crumbed squid and a nice little salad :p

I had detected for only 2 hrs earlier this week (a test) resting my shoulders especially the right one and resting as usual on the weekend.

I will be getting "back on the horse" first thing next week :cool: travelling a little further to some new ground ;)

Nothing like fresh fish straight onto the plate for evening tucker! Sometimes you just have to give the body a rest from detecting, unfortunately the weather is dictating my detecting activities at the moment, rather than the body. :|
 
Looks like around $51.20 at a wild guess lol.
not bad for a bit of a muck around playing.
