Just wondering what people have made bottle probes out of?

I had a couple of nice spring steel rods out of the boot hinges of an old Toyota Crown, but gave them to my brother as he is more of a bottle fan.

I recently got access to a spot that apparently has a late 1800's era rubbish dump, so keen to have a poke around.

I figure i'll find something in Bunnings or Metalmart, but just thought i'd ask anyway....

Cheers,
John

not sure, i had an old shaft years ago that was stainless steel and it was very rigid.

im sure someone will chime in with some better ideas.

Ah, that makes sense. I was thinking of the bent shaft trimmers where the drive is like a speedo cable, I guess a straight shaft would be a lot different.

Only problem is you still have to dig for them. Apparently JCB make a Bottle probe, bit expensive though! :D
