Started prospecting about 30 years ago using Garrett A2B and the "A1" (if anyone here is old enough to remember these gems?). Used to be regular member of the VMDPA (again, not sure if they're still around).
Haven't done much for the last 10 years or so but starting to get back into it again now with my 15 yo son. Mainly hitting up my old spots in the Triangle but also doing a bit of beach detecting now and then. Current weapons of choice include Garrett ATX and Minelab GP 3500
