XP Deus. One hour timed after night shift. New site for me. I like doing these short hunts after night shift to try new spots. I just wander around, cherry picking good signals to check the potential of the site. Worth going back for a proper hunt. Another badge related to my job. Love it.

Hey RJ
very nice.
just wondering for night detects, do wear a headlamp or carry torch?
neil

I usually wear a headlamp but only turn it on if needed. Usually there is enough light from the moon, streetlights etc. One of my headlamps has a red LED which is handy as it gives enough light without looking like the high beams of a semi. LOL. Most pin pointers have an LED which is also useful. I like detectors with a backlight on the screen so you can keep an eye on things. I also will have a small torch in a pocket. The old boy scout motto... be prepared.

I have one of these which I bought and it has the red LED and 3 settings on the white LED. $40 . AAA batteries.

I also have one of these that was supplied to me at work. It has 3 brightness levels and will melt eyeballs at 100 paces. LOL. Never used it at work but have used it detecting and camping etc. $130 ish. Built in rechargeable battery.

You must have a few railway badges in your collection to date, yet another piece of Aussie history saved from the ground. :Y:

Thanks all. Finished my last night shift for this week. To get my fix I went back to one of the sites I tested a couple of weeks ago.

Taking Rocket's advice I took extra care to keep the coil really low and slow. Nice damp, clean soil which seems to be kind to the coins. Specially the silvers. Got a few nice silvers and my new Favourite overseas coin. :D
A 2 Kopec from the Soviet Union (CCCP) dated 1961? Cool. a Cold war era Soviet coin. :D :D

Sorry fot the image overload but they are all such pretty coins.
