I remember years and years of not seeing any other detectorists.... and being the one n only, first on site everywhere I went.
(It's just a pitty that my skill level was far from complete way back then)+( and that I'd never learnt to roam).
(Well.... not with a detector in hand) :( :D

I was very fortunate to have engaged on this forum and learned a lot from everyone... :) Can still remember my first day, the excitement is still real and alive.. :) :Y:

Well its been a long week and I've managed to get out for a swing twice...I may be going out tomorrow morning...
I couldn't figure out why so many of my prime spots weren't producing like I know they can and today I looked at the detector and noticed my ground balance wasn't done properly.....The auto balance was off and so a lot of the signals I was getting and the TID's didn't match what I was finding so I'm glad I got that fixed...
Was funny because as soon as I did the ground balance I was hitting target after target crisp and clean....
Met another guy detecting...Ralph was his name, he aw me and walked the other way, me having wasted a few hours because the detector wasn't set up followed him and then had a chat. Don't think he was too happy to have a chat but oh well he knows who I am because he is on one of the Facebook Groups...
I left him to do the rest of the beach as I was ready to come home with the loot anyway...

Anyway I got my first $10 Coin....Woop Woop now if only they would do a $5 coin here or a $10 one...
Have some news to share but that will be kept on hold until next week.

They do do a $5 coin, it came out in 1988 and everyone is probably hoarding theirs. I posted a pic several days ago of one here https://www.prospectingaustralia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=24853

Thanks blokes, very very busy so the addiction is slowly subsiding and is replaced by an excited kid moment when I get to have a swing.....

Ahhhhh Whisp mate you're on the ball....I remember now.... Put em in circulation :) :D

:Y: O:) :Y:

Cheers Silver mate....It's very enjoyable and I get to meet some nice people out and about, also some not so friendly but I guess that balances it all out.
I wonder what else may come out to play with another food festival at the local Pier. :)
Maybe Sam and Jess will beat me to the loot. :) :Y:

The first month of 2018 is nearly over and done with and I am happy with the finds....I've not been out as much as I'd like but that happens when family life gets busier and to be honest I wouldn't have it any other way... Well maybe a few more hunts would ease the itch...
So last night in the rain which was so soothing I had a little dig at the local beach 5 minutes away and was happy with the few coins I got and a couple of night/bakers.
There is one more day of January and the easing of rain may give me an opportunity to get out this late arvo for a dig.
