Golddiggerart - Detector finds...

Great hunting buddy

Thanks blokes I remember when it took forever to find my first ring and now it's like I can sniff them out on a beach.... :Y:

I got out last night to a beach spot that replenishes every week, there are shops right across the road and teenagers love it there.
I got a lot of Goldies and Coins out of there and then hit on a ring signal and sure enough bling (Titanium?) ring....
I gridded for a good hour and then moved on in the car along another section of beach.
I had planned to do quite a big stretch which would have taken me at least 5 to 6 hours but the further along I went the less I got.
The 2nd last stop in turned out to be a lucky spot, not many coins but I did manage to hit on a nice 12 TID, I thought hmmmm ring pull and
decided to dig it anyway, it was very deep and in the past when they're deep it means junk, I scooped out the old sand, seaweed and tossed it
aside and then ran the detector over it but it was still very deep. I was going to give up but the very next scoop I tossed showed up a Gold coloured Ring...
Upon inspecting it I noticed a lot of stones in it and thought, hmmm this is a junker, no way this is real, I know it has been in there for a long time but you never know we may find the person who lost it yet....There was a fisherman nearby and we chatted for a bit, we talked about detecting and stuff and then I showed him the two rings, he looked at the Gold one and said oh there are hallmarks, I said really
oh that's cool. He also shared a story with me of a $7K ring find by his wife, they found it on the ground in Footscray in a parking lot and when they took
it to the police station to hand it in the cops said we don't want anything to do with that. Go figure huh.
Anyway he said they still have it and one day he said the person who lost it might show up....
Twas a good night and the thing is, while talking to Sam and Jess my detecting buddies I said I'd love to find a Gold Ring with Rows of Diamonds...

Thanks Numpty, I have to admit my heart skipped a beat but I played it cool and just put it in my pocket. lol I've been caught out before
thinking I had Gold but it was only a Gold Coloured Junker.

Cracker find mate, well done, I'm still dreaming of one like that. Must only be poor people on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, no one loses rings like that around here, only junkers it seems.

Wow very cool ring, think you might have the treasure find of the year and its only the first couple of days

Thanks blokes, tis been rather exciting in our household and the detecting is still as fun today as it was this time last year.

I see tree's of Gold, Gold roses too, I see them Gold - and so do you..... OOPS wrong lyrics.

Thanks mate, I did set a goal of 100 rings, in the past setting goals didn't fair too well more than likely because I am a get up and go type of person,
but for some strange reason I feel different this year....
A lot is happening here and all will be revealed in the coming months, maybe that has something to do with it too. :Y:

So I decided to go for a late dig last night especially since the weather was scorching, all of the beaches were jammed packed and the first target I hit within a minute or two of hitting the sand turned out to be a ring, the Gold colour made me think awesome but when I got home I saw it was only bling. Not a lot of coins around and so I moved to a different beach.....
Was slow going and not a lot of coins, I had to work for it and was picking $2 up 50c, $1 in drabs, a whole lotta walking and not a lot to show for it....
I left that beach and hit another and I hit on more coins than the previous to beaches, I was pretty happy with that and decided one I got a txt from my wife I would come home.
While driving something was willing me to try one more little beach, it gets busy and I always get a few Goldies, I was there not long ago so wasn't expecting much...
Within the first minute Goldie and then within 5 minutes I hit a nice crisp 20 - 22 Tid, I thought oh well that's cool it'll be 20c and so I scooped up the sand in my big ass scoop and shook the sand out, I could hear a rattle and looked into the scoop, not a 20c but a Ring.
The Golden colour got me excited but because I couldn't see a hallmark I thought another bling, I stayed for a good 15 minutes and got a few more Goldies.
I stopped and talked to the fish-man and asked what day he sells his mussels and he said come Friday so I said will do mate make sure you have 2 kilos for me, $7 bucks a kilo is okay because they're fresh from the mussel farm.
Anyway I had fun and scored Gold so it was a good hunt.

Arthur Arthur Arthur, bloody awesome detecting mate, I'm now considering moving down to Melbourne, the land where it's rains golden rings.

What's it weigh, 6 - 6.5g?

You going to buy an Equinox when they come out or stick with the gold sniffing 705?

I'm up to $125 and six rings, pretty similar results so far, the gold and diamonds though mate, geez, your miles ahead.

Awesome results. Makes one wonder how much is found by other detectorists every day that we don't know about.

Cheers Heatho mate, this one weighed on @4.5grams.....It's amazing how ours finds are similar and I've seen it on Facebook with a lot of the finds by everyone being similar as well.
I will buy an equinox but the 505 and 705 are still going to be in operation as well.

Ktmman thanks mate, yeah it's amazing, I did think about that as well I mean many detectorist's hit well over the $2000 mark for the year if we average it out between everyone that would take it into the 6 figure mark or maybe even hit 7 figures. Good fun.... :Y:
