Hi Art, I think the ??????? Thingy is from the harmonica. It is used to change the pitch or give vibrato. It had a spring mechanism so that you rapidly move it in and out when required.
A great lot of finds mate.
Mackka

Hey Mackka I believe you are correct on that one mate cheers....

So I got out last night to the park just down the road, it's been hammered over the years and I've had a few good finds from it...
A large area to cover and some spots are just full of rocks which makes retrieving targets that little but harder.
Got a few coins and a couple of relics. Later Today I will hit the railway walking track but on a section I have never been before,
will be interesting to see if there are any relics/coins to be had.

Cheers blokes....

So I get out to the railroad track and nothing but rubbish and more rubbish so Kiara and I went to the footy field which has given us
a few goldies in the past, well it gave up some more... Also had a chat with a Vietnam Vet, nice bloke and very young looking for a 77 year old.

Today we hit the creek track where I found the harmonica pieces...only found the Half Penny in that spot and then walked along to find a $2
and also a pair of glasses...
The other $2.60 came from the beach where we stopped on the way home.
Twas a beautiful day and watching the paragliders flyover was so cool...I really want one of those things..

GDA, you can't detect hanging from a kite!

LOL Nope that is true but it looks like a lot of fun... :) I can always pack the detector into a bag and take it with me in case
I spot somewhere interesting to detect... Fly in have a detect and then fly out. :) :Y:

Been a few days since my last dig so tonight Kiara and I hit a few parks/reserves....Nothing really special but finding a Penny in a rather new park has left me scratching my head as it was over 8 to 10 inches deep.... I found 1 and 2 cent coins in the same place but didn't think it was old enough for a penny.
The last park around the corner finally gave up goldies and also in the most unlikely spot a ring....Real heart flutter too but it's only a junker.

A junker ring has no right to be that sparkly, still worth a bit of a heart flutter. I wonder what the location used to be prior to being converted to a park - had you had a look on Google Earth yet with the timeline function? :)

There used to be an old school near the location other than that there is nothing else to go off... :Y:
