Got my new tumbler today, i was itching to give it a trial run. :) :D Now although i'm excited about what the tumbler and other enhancements can do for my Crusty coins and relics, i'm also apprehensive and uncertain. I don't want to offend anyone by what i'm doing, especially when it comes to the coins. I see it as i'm saving these coins from the melting pot as, regardless, no matter what you Don't do to them, they hold no value to a coin collector in the state they come out of the ground anyway. Opinions appreciated. Now below are 3 of those coppers i found at the old farmhouse, after water wash then tumbling enough to highlight but leave the original patina. I wonder if anyone else sees the beauty of it or do i have a weird sense of taste?

They look great mate....I see people saying all the time Do not clean coins...You know what I will do whatever I want with mine, they all come out of the ground and unless it is something of a high value and condition then I will clean them all....They are priceless as far as I am concerned and I didn't get into the hobby to sell anything, I'd rather give them away anyway to someone that appreciates them.

Well done I like them like that. :)

Those penny's turned out unreal .....sweet tumbling there 8) the 50 head looks like it has a sheen to it  do they all ?
Or do you need to fully tumble them to get a sweet shine?
Them penny's hey?

Thanks for the response B5.
The skull ring and yen have now seen the tumbler, and whilst the yen has improved, :) i think the ring is unfortunately worse. :(
The sheen or shine on the coppers doesn't show up on the camera, 8) they all have a nice shine without being overly polished. :Y: I've got some in now that are going to go longer, see how they turn out. ]:D

It's been raining here a lot lately, which is great for the farmers :) but hinders the ability to get out for a swing. :( Add to that i've got a bit more work coming in :Y: so when the weather is good enough i have to work first before play. I did get a chance to go to the local PD site for a few hours on Monday and was happy with the outcome. :D I have adjusted the disc settings which makes the ring pulls and tabs come across scratchy and broken. So i search in AM for best depth, then once a target is found i switch to disc to decide whether i dig or not. I have double checked and dug some of the 'do not dig" signals and it seems to be pretty spot on, so this is saving wasted digging time and allowing a more productive hunt. I also now only use a probe and screwdriver to retrieve targets at this site as it is a sensitive area , this method also seems to be faster.

Had to go see a bloke about some contract work in another town today, took the detector along as there is an old netball court and a church right on the edge of the highway as you go through an almost non existent tiny town (settlement). called in and had a swing on the way home, got a 53 penny at the netball court and lo and behold if i didn't get a ring a ding ding right in front of the pearly gates (church) ]:D Excitement wore off once i got home and revealed the markings :( Oh well a ring is a ring i suppose :p
