Swains Reef Charter Trip

Hi Guys,

Just got back from a fantastic trip to Swains on-board the Eastern Voyager. No gold but huge amount of fish. Trip was that good that I'm thinking of doing a Prospecting Australia Trip next winter if i can find 10 willing fisherman/prospectors to fill the spots on this great boat. Great pics Wal! Looks as though you didn't go hungry. Would love to come along but winter is the best time for harvesting nuggets in the west

Can see your dilemma DD, heading over to Halls Creek in a few weeks myself. Think I'll do the Reef early June next year and head west again end of June. The Reef is too good a trip to miss mate.

Ha Ha ....Great to be back to a computer... not great to be back to minus 4 and 40 knot winds though. For anybody that likes to drop a line i can highly recommend the Eastern Voyager as a mother ship....don't come much better and a great crew.

Be heading off in about 3 weeks Joe. Will be going back to Halls Creek every 10 days so will be able to log on and give you an update on hopefully some good news.

Nice fish Wal, looks like the arms would have been a bit stretched after that. Well done. I am off to Weipa on Thursday, I don't think I will be able to match you. I will have a 2 night stopover at The Palmer so maybe a bit of yellow to keep me company on the rest of the trip. Cheers Rick

Thanks Chris, hope you gave Tuena a go in my absence and cleaned up. Have to catch up before i head over west mate. Already got myself one of those great coffee makers like yours and on the hunt now for some worthy coffee beans. American Honey is already packed.

looks like you had a great trip. i havent been on a trip up there for 10 years cant wait to go again. i use to go on the kanimbla it is a great baot 100 foot cat
do youdo any spearfishing there? just snorkeling up thre you see so many fish and other interesting things.

Great area that Swains Reef complex. Haven't heard of that cat but at 100' it would be a great mother ship. We didn't spend much time spear fishing but did spear a few good size crays. Definitely heading back up that way next winter.
