A few weeks ago (maybe more) i unearthed a huge padlock
1565996080_img_8905.jpg
After a hundred ish years buried, restoration was fanciful at best roll
I started with a wire brush , then soaking in molasses (4 weeks all up)
As time went on chunks of rust flaked off until i thought ,if i keep going there wont be anything left.
So i filled the gaping holes with car bog , and a bit of paint. wink

Not too bad i reckon

Dont know the exact weight but 'pretty bloody heavy' would be close wink
And yes it does have pride of place , however , not my mantle piece
I handed it back to the landowner on saturday

Geez, that florin has got plenty of detail on it (mine are mostly worn). Pity it wasn't a BB that copped the digger. thumbsup
