Stringers for my boat and installed them. One was missing and the other had rotted. So I might as well do it with the deck out at the moment

Yesterday I made the stringers for my dingy. Today I installed them. Next is the new deck
This is what winter makes you do when you cant get out looking for the shiny stuff
Took the back seats out of the troopy and made up some storage.
I used some old marine carpet for the time being. Didnt want to lash out for a colour match until I was sure this suit and works the way it should
Now all i need is to get a couple of gas lift shock and I'll be smiling like a rat with a gold tooth.

Are they spring loaded ball locks thingys ?
Yes Silver. Got them from St Bunnings [they got everything lol]
Happy to send you the dimensions if you need them or we can build them over a beer or 6
Its the plastic boxes inside that had to be cut to suit the height gave me a bit of a headache.

pork and apple snags . but i ran out of prepped hog casings so i couldnt stuff all the meat ah well we live and learn .
might soak some more skins tonight so i can stuff the rest in the morning.

Today I also made a nice little pile of firewood. And yesterday I made a new prospecting pick from a extra heavy plough disc- cut it out, sharpened it, put in a hardwood handle that used to be a tent pole, and gave it a squirt of black paint- whole thing took an hour and a half and looks horrible- but it'll work
Jay.i used to grow and kill my own but i dont have pigs anymore i miss em too great fun to watch the little tackers running around . anyway for the snags i just buy pork shoulder its about the best cut for sausages .

The last one i had i fed it on grain , boiled spuds with the out of date spices etc cooked into them and fruit that fell of the trees , when it was cooked you could taste the love

:Y:Every year we grow a few different varieties of pumpkin- the old standards like Queensland blue- they'll keep for three years on a rack out of the weather- and we also try varieties we haven't grown before. Last summer just for fun I grew a few of those giant orange things- thought I could feed 'em to the pigs. The biggest one was about sixty centimetres across. I was looking at it, trying to figure out the best way to pick it up- put my hands under it and almost threw it up in the air! There was a hole in the bottom where the mice had chewed their way in and hollowed it out- just a big empty shell that weighed a couple of kilos. The pig I killed yesterday evening is in the freezer now- pile of chops, couple of roasting pieces, few bits for the smoker, and the rest will be mince or stir fry- mostly stir fry. The missus can turn out a fantastic meal in the wok in about twenty minutes- definitely the way to go. Jay.
