If you cant get your vehicle to where you are digging  lugging the pump up and down hills really blows 8.( so out of necessity comes invention :)

Firstly the cheapest way to get wheels is to buy a fridge barrow from stupidheap $24 :D secondly rack your brain for a few weeks until you solve the pump mount issues

and hey presto pump transport , please note ;) limiting alcohol to two beers or spirits per step greatly improves the chances of it working out  :p

good idea :) may I suggest something ? a chest harness and a rope connecting to the back of it and then the rope tied to the top of the trolley for pulling it up hills saves a lot of time and effort and you don't fall over as much trying to pull something that heavy up a hill or creek over rocks just a thought.

also another thought that came to mind is putting 4 wheels on it instead of 2 that way the trolley can carry more weight and you pull less weight

There is actually a negitive weight on me already , as the pump is trying to go back down therefore lifting the handles up , if anything i will move the axle an inch or so closer to the pump to try cause a more neutral balance.
In the past i have found four wheels to be more hassel then help in the bush but your harness idea coulld definently free one hand up when pulling the trolley behind you up hill. :)

The main though of this build was KISS :D

Mate....love your work! Simple but effective. Last thing you want is to do your back in doing what you love...especially if you gotta explain to the missus!
Good work and now you can reap the the fruits of your labor hehee. :D
