Heat treatments and other things??

I am wondering what the take is on sapphires and other gems being heat treated to have better property's for reflection. I have a couple low quality rocks I would like to have treated for personal use. Does anyone know where I can get it done? What's the cost and how long does it take? Has anyone done this with good results?

Mate, I'd just send them to Lamberts. I wouldn't worry about getting them heated probably not worth it. Bear in mind you can lose upto 60% in the cutting/faceting process depending on how fussy you are when giving cutting instructions. Our first batch of very small stones just arrived back and they are brilliant (I tried putting some pics up but our camera wont focus properly). We got a heap of rejects back as we were pretty fussy with our cutting instructions.
