G,day all,, A little helpfull hint to all those interested in coin hunting especially the new commers ,,,, Not being a smart ar$e ,,,,but the best hint 4 success is THINK LIKE A HUMAN !! there the creatures that left the treasure 4 U 2 find !!! Watch people at the beach ,,,They walk down the path from the car park, reach the sand and usually STOP then look left and right and usually walk at 45 deg 2 the path !! Human love to sit on elevated areas ,,sand humps ect. Old house sites.. Front gate to the front verandah ...prime spot ..usually next to the front door on the verandah was a chair coins usually fell straight from grandpa's pocket through the floor boards ! Under the cloths line ! Hard to believe But the richer to household the less You usually find ,, The houses of the rich were usually better made ,,No cracks in the floor 4 coins to fall through !! Hope this May help!!

Regards L/R

I know this is a rather old thread...... but... the title says it all really.
I decided to do a little coin hunting myself..... bypassing the left to right pocket method I use for going through the shopping change. I decided to cut to the chase and search some coin rolls straight from the bank and beat everyone else to the goodies for a change (punny). Now this method is definitely not for the faint hearted (gave me a headache complete with all the accompanying aches and pains).
Here's some of the receipt

Now I'm glad I took a sturdy car pump carry bag in with me to the machine.... cause $580 in change could break a thin mans arm (let alone mine)
here's the pile

now the photos ain't great.... but you'll get the gist.
here's the finds

Now I must admit the eyes were paining once it was all said n done.... but there were a coupl'a coins I'd never seen before at all.
The best looking coin woild have to be that 1972 20c.... absolutely not a mark on it.... full lustre too.
$1.00, 50c, & 20c types would be less eye strain I recon.
best thing will be cashing in what I didn't keep.... and the one's I chose to keep only cost me face value.

StoneTheCrows I had inspiration from watching some coin roll hunting on utube. :p
I always liked watching silver coins being pulled out of coin rolls by the Americans (lucky buggas still have some spinning around in circulation).

So something made me put Australian Coin Roll Hunting into the search engine and I found this fella..... and then I found those coins (forced along a track by following my nose)

I'll spend less money and thus less time on the next occasion..... and maybe just one value at a time so the grey matter doesn't quiver too much :D

Yeah seems wayyyy too easy hey !
Here's that 72 in the daylight.... definitely a circulated coin

Yeah, any colored $2 coins will be lower mintage, so apparently we keep them all lol :Y:

Looked through another hundred dollars worth of 20's & 50's.... pulled $4.70 out of it

so... I'm thinking this might be a 2008 wave gap
1565886894_screenshot_2019-08-16-02-21-57.jpg

and this may be that 2014 claw error
1565887008_screenshot_2019-08-16-02-22-12.jpg

and the next two may be the 1981 canadian 3&1/2 claw

Problem will be not to lose em now

Just a few of the nicer ones out of a $200 search.
A 1976 50c that stood out as nice
1566045329_screenshot_2019-08-17-22-30-30.jpg

A 1988 10c that was still smooth and new looking. :p
1566045431_screenshot_2019-08-17-22-29-15.jpg

Same with this 1981 5c
1566045534_screenshot_2019-08-17-22-28-52.jpg

This 1972 5c was a surprise
1566045617_screenshot_2019-08-17-22-28-16.jpg

But.... this 2016 changeover 5c has to be the highlight of it all :D
(only cost me 5c too)
