I just emailed them. Not sure how this will go but we'll see if I get a response. I asked if it was still in development or had been released, and a release date if in development, and if it would be sold through Minelab dealers in Australia, and if they had a rrp. Looks like they operate out of Italy and Thailand. Now the waiting is the hardest part. Lol

The sdc electronics couldn't do gpr. Gpr requires measurements taken 1000s of times faster than a metal detector. The shallower you go the faster still plus a MT uses a coil to transmit a magnetic field in to the ground while a gpr uses an antenna to transmit a radio wave. A mt measures induced magnetic field decay while the gpr measures reflected wave times.

Ok I just heard back from Hugh at Minelab. Because it was developed with mostly military applications in mind and the technology involved, a price for small orders is (drum roll)......US$31k. Slightly out of my budget. At that price my guess is it is a whole lot more gpr than the F3.

Makes the GPZ cheap
Was thinking $20-25k but that is really something. A specialist piece of kit! I'll stick with metal detectors that work better on gold anyways.
