Took the new machine out this arvo for 2 hours. I was digging everything, that gave a repeatable signal, sensitivity on 20. I found that certain numbers like 20 was a ringpull, 12 was a pulltab. Signals over 30, included 2 bucks, a watch, canslaw, wine bottle tops, I didnt remember the exact numbers they gave. Bottlecaps can be screamers, two were 48, on the surface. What really made me happy, was the speed I was detecting, fast to nail down signals, fast to pinpoint, and really accurate. I was detecting in an old, but really trashy park, where its only given me a few finds before, but its 5 mins from home. Cant wait to use it on a productive site :) oh, I was using all metal mode, so I could hear the iron, I dug much less iron, rejecting high tones, with an iron tones mixed :) Its a joy to use so far. The watch looks old, had a hinged cover, and quite a few winder stems, seems strange. No makers name, but there is a tiny hallmark, so tiny that with a magnifying glass, its unreadable.

Nice one Rocket. I'm feeling under threat now :D
A bit of a lesson on buying a detector here. How long from the Aldi to the Ace 350 to the 705? It is an addictive hobby. :D

Aldi lasted 2 weeks, good enough to get me interested. Ace lasted 3 months, capable machine, but once I realised its shortcomings, or I felt that I was unable to make it work like others seem to, then I longed for an upgrade :) The anaconda special forced the decision :)

Got my first pre decs with the 705 :) Two half pennies, lotsa junk of course, one interesting relic could be a gun hammer? I am getting there slowly, its very different beast to the ace!

I was using this while I had the 705 - very handy

Took the 705 to a very old patch of land, where once a 1800s hotel stood. I think the site had been filled, even the bottlecaps were deep, so I spent some time across the road, where the ground is lower level.

BBs, goldies, fried/bent half penny, and this little thing, its prob my best jewellery find so far :) Doesnt seem to be one on google images.

That's a nice little laurel wreath and probably silver, I'd guess. Is it a badge?

Seems to be a badge, missing the clip. I think its union, or socialist in nature. Considering its hollow in the back, its quite heavy, so yeah may well be silver, no hallmarks.
