I found this baby Covered in mud was about to give it a toss but it felt heavy so in the pocket it went...the old saying around here is " a fist size pce of ore with one visible spec will equal 0nce per tonne crushed" well this thing has more freckles than i did at 12!!
Its fist sized and wieghs good 1kg. :D
 
Good find Yobskin I hope there's heaps in it .
I found this rock in much the same way I'm pretty sure there's a few specks in this rock also .Could someone tell me though given the rainbow halo what other minerals are likely to be present .it looks to be off what I believe is a stringer nearby .

The brightly coloured mineral is Bornite, otherwise known as peacock ore, and a common copper group mineral. You need to check the minerals in the samples carefully. You may have gold, or the gold coloured specks may be chalcopyrite. Lets hope its gold.
