<blockquote data-quote="Jaros" data-source="post: 261053" data-attributes="member: 1122"><p>Home</p><p> News Centre</p><p> Family located after being bogged for five days</p><p></p><p>A</p><p>A</p><p>Family located after being bogged for five days</p><p></p><p> Sunday, 10 July 2016 13:04 </p><p></p><p>Police have managed to make contact with a family of six who have been bogged in bushland north of Maffra since Wednesday.</p><p></p><p>The family were due to return from a week-long camping trip to the Avon Wilderness Area on Wednesday, however did not return when expected.</p><p></p><p>Police spoke to the 34-year-old father this morning, who advised the groups car had become bogged on the Avon Track on Wednesday.</p><p></p><p>Unable to call for assistance due to the lack of mobile reception, and trapped by flooded waterways, the group was unable to seek help.</p><p></p><p>This morning the father has managed to climb to higher ground where he had enough phone reception for the call from police to be received.</p><p></p><p>All family members the father, 36-year-old woman, 12-year-old girl, 10-year-old girl, 8-year-old boy and 2-year-old boy are not injured.</p><p></p><p>Police are planning to airlift the family from the area however are waiting for fog to clear.</p><p></p><p>The family are well equipped with food, water and warm clothing to await rescue.</p><p></p><p>Leonie Johnson</p><p></p><p>Media Officer</p></blockquote><p></p>
