I now have a heap of coils with a range for my 5000 and now a number for my new 6000.
Finding it a hassle storing and carrying these especially when on a prospecting trip. End up leaving behind some in the caravan under beds and those that are in the car usually with lower shafts attached seem to create a tangled mess with the other things we take with us in the back of our wagon.
Have been having thoughts about building a pigeon hole box for storing and stacking them vertically or horizontally.
Interested in any ideas.

just thinking the same thing where to store all the coils we cart around

I usually use the Goldhawk 10x5 cause im mostly in creeks, but I always carry the 11 inch mono...... but on narly days Ill also pack the DD, but have never used it

Maybe sticking the coils in an old pillow slip would keep the cables tidy.
Yes, that’s another problem when you bring back muddy and wet coils to the car. Gina sewed up some elasticised protective coil covers to fit over over coils shower cap style whilst being used at any time to prevent mud and dirt being spread in the car. Probably could have made the openings a bit wider or the elastic a bit less tight as they are a bit fiddly to put on and they do need to be amply sized. Anyway a mark 2 version might work a bit better if I can convince her.

They look pretty good. I've got some bags my wife sewed up for me using the material from a damaged car awning. Tent material might work too.
Easy to sew and its water proof.

I chuck my finds bag, pin pointer and trowel in one to stop the sand spread.
