Hi all,
Selling a high banker that I started building a couple of years ago. It's been sitting in the garage ever since. Has been used once to trial it and it works perfectly. Doesn't come with legs, but wouldn't be too hard to build some. Selling as it hasn't been used and we are moving house...
Hi all
Finally got something to share - Here's the result from my first time out at Oallen Ford with my homemade Walbanker inspired Highbanker.
According to the scales it's about 0.15g :D
Hi guys
Thanks for the tips. Ended up detecting just south of Maryborough.
These are the findings:
Lots of lead, but unfortunately no gold. Nevertheless had a great time so decided to get an SDC2300. Now just gotta find some time to take it out and detect my first gold.
Hi all
I'm in Victoria for the Chrismas holidays and am planning to head to the golden triangle on 2 jan to rent a GPX5000 for the day.
I've never been before, so was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to detecting my first yellow? Was considering the Maryborough area...
Hey Ben
Apologies, I should have provided a bit more detail. Middys is a data and electrical store. I believe they have stores all around australia. You can find their contact details at http://www.middys.com.au/
Cheers.
Thanks golddigg and Jarod.
Just managed to pick up the cable tray.
If anyone else needs some, they come in 2.4m length and a 300mm wide piece is about $30 from middys. Will also have some left over, so happy to share if anyone needs some.
Now I just need o find the alu mesh - does anyone know...
Hey guys,
I've been trying to find all the components to build myself a walbanker. I've got the shell, the bread crate and the rubber mat but have been struggling to find the expanded mesh (sloped and/or straight) and the cable tray. Am wondering if anyone knows where I could buy those in...
Thanks gcause.
Those are some great photos and instructions - will be a big help.
Have you tried using it in the goldfields? I'm thinking of trying mine in Bendigo and wonder what your thoughts are?
Even if it just find lots of bullets, it's great fun building it!
Thanks guys
Those are some awesome tips on how to make a coil.
I will definitely have a play and see what I can put together. I will let you know how I go. :)
Hi AtomRat
Would love to know your thoughts on the Surf Pi once you have built it and tested it.
The biggest problem I had (and still have) is trying to build a housing for the coil.
I am still trying to figure out an easy way to build a DIY one. However if that doesn't work out I think I...
Thanks Wal
The forum has been great! I look forward to gaining enough knowledge to be able to pass on some useful tips to other newbies out in the field.
Cheers
Hi HunterHarvey
Great idea to build your own detector. I've recently built one myself - the Surf Pi 1.2. Haven't tried it out in the field, however air tested it at home with some coins. I got quite a lot of interference from the TV and metal objects in the house, but it seemed to work well...
Hi all
I joined the forum a while ago and was convinced to start sharing my finds and stories on here by a member I bumped into at Tuena over the weekend. I picked up a few lots of tips which helped me move up from the fly droppings I have found so far.
Was fantastic to realise that there...
